13th NUSSA Games kicks off at University of Ilorin

The 13th Nigerian Universities Staff Sport Association (NUSSA) Games has commenced on the 22nd of September 2018 at the main bowl of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) with about three thousand sportsmen of several Nigerian Universities in attendance.
Accordingly to the weekly bulletin of the Institution, the participants of the sporting event are already on ground for the sports fiesta.
Uche Basil-Eke, Chairman of the NUSSA Games local organizing committee, said the one week sports event would feature athletes from both the academic and non-academic staff of Nigerian Universities.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, had been invited to the walking competition and to declare the sport event closed on the 29th of September 2018 and principal officers of the Nigerian Universities will also participate in the walking competition, Basil-Eke added.
According to the committee chairman, the event would feature fifteen sporting activities which are Ayo, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Draft, Draught, Football, Handball, Scrabble, Squash, Swimming, Table tennis, Tennis and Volleyball.
The grand finale would be a Gala Night which will be hosted by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The Gala Night would be held on Saturday, 29th of September at the main stadium of the Institution.
