The management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has made it known that about 3,800 staff and students of the institution have been covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The Director of Health Services of the institution, Dr. AbdulRasheed Odunola, made the disclosure recently at a symposium organised by Offa Students’ Union (OSU), UNILORIN chapter.
Prof. Bayo Lawal, a former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, in his remarks, urged the students to pay greater attention to their health and education. He maintained the fact that knowledge acquisition remained the bedrock of success in life.
On the state of education in the country, the former DVC said that quality education can be achieved in the Nigeria, especially under the atmosphere of good governance.
He urged the students to aspire for leadership, noting that an individual must be known for something positive in order to be recognised by the people.
