Academic activities have resumed at the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State, after a 2-week break following a protest by students of the institution over the killing of two Tiv students during a clash between Jukun and Tiv.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abubakar Kundiri, confirmed to pressmen that academic activities had resumed in the school.
The Chairman of Tiv Staff Forum in the institution, Patrick Tion, also confirmed that the Tiv students were back on campus.
“We held a meeting witht the university management on Tuesday and they assured us of adequate security. For now, the situation is calm and students are going about their normal academic activities,” Tion stated.
Prof. Kundiri also made it known that he had secured full accreditation for twenty-seven undergraduate programmes and twenty-nine postgraduate programmes in the university.
