The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has put on hold its plan to embark on another round of industrial action.
Report revealed that ASUU had announced it would continue to demand for the fulfilment of the agreement it reached with the Federal Government.
Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, National President of ASUU, made the disclosure while addressing men of the press on the side-lines of “Day of Tribute” in honour of late Prof. Samson Olatunde Oduleye, a member of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) 49+.
The event, which was attended by members of UNILORIN 49+ and their families, was held at the late Oduleye’s home in Ilorin, Kwara state.
ASUU President, while speaking to Pressmen, asked for the evidence from the FG to show that the balance of the N25 billion earned academic allowances earlier released to universities had been mainstreamed in the 2019 budget.
