The management of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state, has disclosed that the institution has been listed among the four Nigerian universities chosen to host the African Development Bank’s Centers of Excellence Coding for employment program which is to create millions of jobs and train 234000 youths.
According to Punch, Prof. Aderemi Atayero, Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, let this out during the institution’s 17th matriculation ceremony held in the school premises last Friday.
“The program would equip youths across Africa with skills needed to secure ICT related employment and businesses,” he said.
“Covenant University is one of the four institutions in Nigeria selected to host the African Development Bank’s Centers of Excellence Coding for Employment Program which is aimed at equipping youths across Africa with needed skills to secure ICT related employment. The program is expected to create over nine million jobs and train 234000 youths,” the VC added.
Recently, Covenant University was listed among the top three percent out of 26,369 universities in the world by Times Higher Education World University Ranking.
