Ahmadu Bello University Collaborates With Chinese University, UNESCO On Scientific Materials, Others

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUST) China and UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding on exchange of scientific materials, publications, information and dual Doctorate Degrees.


Reports revealed that the signed Memorandum of Understanding covers exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty staff and post-doctoral researchers, joint research and any form of cooperation necessary as well.


The Director of Public Affairs of ABU, Dr. Ismail Shehu, in a statement, said that each of the collaborations would be further discussed by the three parties involved and a separate agreement or an addendum to the MoU was necessary to initiate each of the programs.


Prof. Ibrahim Garba, Vice Chancellor of ABU, signed the MoU on behalf of the institution while Prof. Li Ming and Dr. Xu Li endorsed the agreement on behalf of SUST and UNESCO Education Centre respectively.


According to the statement, the MoU was facilated by Huawei Technologies in recognition of the impressive relationship the company had established with ABU as a result of the HAINA program anchored by Prof. M.B. Mu’azu, ABU’s Director of Institute of Computing and ICT.


The statement also noted that a team from SUST and the UNESCO Education Centre, would visit ABU from June 18 to June 20, 2019.
