Blind Students Win Scholarship in UI, To Study At Premier University

Thirteen students have been awarded scholarships for Masters degree and Doctorate degree programs at the Premier University by the University of Ibadan yesterday, according to a reports on The Guardian, which also shows that three of the students with special needs (visually impaired and physically challenged) also received scholarships for Master degree.

Prof. Jonathan Babalola, Dean, Postgraduate school, stated that the awardees were selected after passing special screening , proposal assessment and interview stages while presenting the awards. The Dean also stated that the new set of awardees joined the 31 students who are currently enjoying the scholarship at the university and that the maximum number an awardee can enjoy is three sessions.

“Out of the 68 applicants, only 25 made it to the interview stage out of which their performance were used to select the best 13.”
