President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned project of road and drainages put at the cost of N1.4bn in the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa state.
President Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Interior, Abduraham Bello Danbazau, said the projects covered 4.5 kilometer internal campus road with drainages as well as over two kilometers of main drainage from outside the institution which terminates at a pond near the university’s farm.
Buhari reiterated that no part of the country would suffer neglect as a result of its geographical location or political inclination.
The president also said that the projects were part of the ecological fund intervention program approved for the university, under the fund’s first chapter of 2018 intervention program.
In her remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Fatima Batul-Muktar, stated that provision of infrastructure was critical to the development of tertiary institutions, adding that Federal University Dutse has had problem of roads and drainages within its permanent site since establishment in 2011.
