The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has funded infrastructural projects worth N500 million to the proposed Muhammad Kamaldeen University, Ilorin, Kwara state.

The official foundation of the university teaching hospital was performed yesterday at the permanent site of the institution in Ogidi area of Ilorin.

Some of the projects for the university by the Senate President include road network, electricity, hostels and furniture. The university management has already taken delivery of the furniture needed for the takeoff of the institution.

Speaking at the foundation laying event, Saraki said the construction of the projects was in response to the request of the management of the proposed university.

Bukola Saraki, who was represented by the Director General, Abubakar Bukola Saraki Mandate Constituency Office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, recalled that the management of the proposed university had told him that the hospital was at the behest of the National Universities Commission (NUC), which insisted that a standard university must have a hospital.

He assured that he would not rest on his oars in ensuring that it sees the light of the day and secures the approval of the NUC.

Also speaking at the foundation laying, the Khalifah Al-Adabby, Alhaji Ahmad Olayiwola Kamaldeen, said the society was passionate about the commencement of academic activities at the institution.
