Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has partnered with notable universities across the country to deepen education in Insurance. The Institute has gone into partnership with the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Babcock University, Delta State University and some other institutions.
According to the Leadership Newspaper, Mr. Eddie Efekoha, President of the Institute, disclosed this at a media event held in Lagos.
Efekoha made mentioned that the institute is working with UNILAG to commence a Master Degree in Insurance while discussions are ongoing to ensure that Delta University has an Insurance department at the degree level.
“The Institute is equally collaborating with Babcock University to start offering Insurance Education. CIIN, as part of its mandate to promote insurance education, is planning an Annual Award to reward best students in Insurance and Actuarial Science from tertiary institutions across the country. Discussions are already going on with UNILAG and Lagos State University (LASU) to be part of this initiative,” he added.
Also, Mr. Richard Borokini, Director-General of CIIN, said that the Institute is organizing a millennials assembly which will serve as a forum to provide mentorship to young professionals as reported by Leadership Newspaper.
