Don’t get scammed, we are not recruiting -WAEC

Are you aware of advertisements in the social media and some sections of the internet about a 2018 recruitment by the West African Examinations Council? Well, WAEC says those adverts are from scammers, the said vacancies titled “WAEC Recruitment 2018/2019 exercise and how to apply onlye via” is not from WAEC, a Statement by WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Demianus Ojijeogu says.

“We, hereby, state categorically that there is no recruitment exercise currently going on or being carried out by WAEC Nigeria. The advertisement did not emanate from us, neither did we authorise any agent to do so on our behalf.
“The advertisement on the so called recruitment exercise is simply the handiwork of fraudsters, who are out to dupe gullible and unsuspecting job seekers and the public,’’ he said.

He said whenever there is need and capacity for any recruitment exercise, the public would be duly informed, through reputable media channels.

“Applicants and the public are, hereby, advised to disregard the purported advertisement and avoid falling into the hands of scammers who are out to make money from gullible and discerning individuals,’’ Ojijeogu said.
He, however, said WAEC management has commenced investigations into the fake online advertisement for 2018/2019 recruitment.
