The Edo State Commissioner for Education, Emmanuel Agbale on Wednesday declared that the present administration is irrevocably committed to the industrialization of the state which informed the present focus on Science and Technology, as well as technical and vocational education in the state.

Agbale stated this during the second Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun – Higher Education Partnership for Sub-Saharan Africa (FUPRE-HEP SSA) knowledge sharing workshop on Sustainable for Multi-scale Biogas Utility as an alternative energy resource held at the Edo University, Iyamho.

The commissioner, who was represented by Obobaribajie John, pointed out that inadequate power supply and the challenges that bedeviled the current sources of power generation have necessitated the search for an alternative source of power that will be less exposed to the challenges inherited in others.

While congratulating the institution for organizing the workshop, the commissioner said his ministry would partner with FUPRE/EUI in the areas of curriculum development and research works.

The Vice Chancellor of Edo University, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, while declaring the workshop open, congratulated FUPRE and all collaborating institutions for winning the HEP-SSA grant, adding that it was a huge achievement for them at the university, as one of the Spoke institutions to be part of history making.
