Federal Government Approves N3bn Intervention For Sule Lamido University

The Federal Government through the Ministry of Education has approved N3 billion for the execution of capital projects in Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa state.

Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, Jigawa state Governor revealed this while speaking to journalist at the Government House in Dutse.

The Governor said the intervention is part of President Muhammad Buhari‘s efforts to develop the education sector through tertiary education trust fund.

Abubakar who commended President Buhari for the gesture reiterated state government commitment to invest more in the educational sector.

He however revealed that the state government has made education as one of its key priority and in view of that it came up with twelve years strategic framework for reforming state education sector known as “Change Agenda”.

Similarly, the Governor has approved the appointment of Prof. Lawan Sani Taura as the new Vice Chancellor of the university. It was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini.

The appointment followed a recommendation to the Visitor of the university by the Governing Council of the Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa. Until his appointment, Prof. Lawan Sani Taura was the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University.
