Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), the founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) has described sports growth as one of the best ways through, which the potentials of Nigerian youths can be developed.

According to Guardian News, the ABUAD founder made this known while speaking during the 2018 Yeye Aare Babalola Athletics Sports Festival (YABAS) which was held in ABUAD during the week.

The renowned lawyer also appealed to the FG to see sports as a veritable weapon to fight poverty, especially in a country like Nigeria, where youth’s unemployment keeps increasing every year.

At the grand finale of the sporting event, the wife of the founder of ABUAD who as well sponsored the event, Mrs. Modupe Babalola said the motive behind the sport fiesta was to discover the talents that are bound in the youth and to keep them away from social vices.
