The Federal University of Dutse (FUD) in Jigawa state has reportedly expelled 485 students of the institution for poor academic performance, examination malpractice and other offences. The expelled students were drawn from all the academic departments in the institution.
According to Premium Times, the Deputy VC, Academics, Abdulkareem Sabo Mohammed told press men that more students will be expelled.
“More students will soon be expelled for participating in exam malpractice, we’re waiting for the outcome of a committee report that is currently checking the cases of examination malpractice,” the DVC said.
The DVC said the institution followed the guide lines of the National Universities Commission before coming to conclusion.
“A committee was set up to check the cases of exam malpractice. We have to prove that through a rigorous investigation before we can conclude that a student is guilty of the crime,” he added.
