Seven Professors at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa state, according to Sahara Reporters, have been demoted from Professor to the lecturer grade level by the university.
According to a staff member of the media department of the university, the Governing Council of FUO made the decision on Tuesday at its 10th meeting.
The following is the list of the affected professors: Shilgba of the department of mathematice and statistic;, Steve Nwabuzor of the department of civil, electrical and electronics engineering; Sepribo Lawson-Jack of the department of mechanical and mechatronics engineering; Obalade Falade of the department of banking and finance.
Others are; Marcellina Offoha of the department of Sociology and Anthropology; Evans Eze of the department of sociology and anthropology and Felina Nwadike of the department of English and communication studies.
A source at the VC’s office, according to Sahara Reporters, said the demotion was a “witch-hunt to get them to leave the university with humiliation.”
