The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Kayode Soremekun, has urged the newly admitted students of the institution to shun all forms of social vices which could destroy their academic career.
The Vice Chancellor gave the advise during the 8th Matriculation ceremony of the university in Oye-Ekiti. The institution matriculated over 5000 students.
Soremekun advised the newly admitted students to be diligent, industrious and focused to enable them to achieve their goals and objectives of studying in the university.
“It gladdens my heart to welcome all the newly admitted students to this great university and I am equally wishing you success in your chosen career as you all begin the journey to achieving greatness.
“As you work hard and pray, always shun examination malpractices and pay serious attention to your courses of study,” the VC stated.
Prof. Soremekun explained that the university management had provided all the basic infrastructures to enhance learning to ensure that students were fully engaged in academic work and thanked parents for cooperating with the management to promote the development of the university.
