FUTA Student Wins Medal for Africa at WYG in Argentina

Alaba Akintola, a 400-level student of Agricultural Engineering of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has won silver medal for Nigeria and Africa at the just concluded 2018 World Youth Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to Premium Times, Alaba Akintola, who represented Nigeria and Africa, came second in the 100 meters race which made him cart away a silver medal at the Youth Olympic Park, Villa Soldati, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Luke David from South Africa came first and won the gold medal while Seiryo Ikeda of Japan went back to his country with the bronze medal.
Vice Chancellor of FUTA, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, described Akintola’s victory as legendary adding that he has shown the world that FUTA is truly a citadel of excellence in all areas of human endeavor.
