According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Prof. Joseph Fuwape, has disclosed that that the university plans to focus more on the training and production of post graduate students.
He made this known during the combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremony of the university
According to NAN, the VC said the university will very soon emulate the University of Ibadan (UI) in ceding 40% of its admission quota on postgraduate students, while 60% would be for first degree and certificate.
“The university established the first school of Computing in the country and introduced new academic programs in Information Technology (IT); Information System; Cyber Security; Software Engineering and Computer Engineering.
“The institution is committed towards being positioned as the best university in Nigeria for innovative and market-responsive computing education,” the VC stated.
