GLO/Huawei Empowerment Scheme Begins At Babcock University

Globacom, one of the leading network providers in Nigeria with partnership with Huawei, a technology firm, is currently rewarding the brightest students in tertiary institutions across the country with free smartphones and free data.
The social responsibility programme took off during the week at the Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun state.

According to the organizers of the programme, the best five final year students in thirty tertiary institutions across the country would receive free smartphones loaded with six months data.

Each of the thirty selected institutions will also receive five GLO routers loaded with data that can be used for two years free-of-charge for academic research.

Speaking at the first presentation, the Registrar of Babcock University, Dr. Jonathan Nwosu, said that, “GLO is Babcock, Babcock is GLO, expressing profound gratitude to Globacom for stepping out to reward hard work.”

Those who benefited were the five topmost final year students of the university. They include; Dogo Edafe Bawa of Business Education, Olusoji Ifejesu Precious of Accounting, Ojutiku Toluwanimi Oluwaseun of Economics department, Ajulibe Goziem Benjamin of Lab. Science department and Anifowose Airat Morolake of Computer Science department.

Nineteen year old Toluwanimi expressed gratitude for the gesture, adding that her whole family members are happy GLO subscribers.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Iheayichukwu Okoro, led other members of the institution to receive the data-loaded routers for the schools.
