Gov. Ambode, UNILAG VC Task Civil Servants On Teamwork

The Executive Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, have both tasked the Lagos state civil servants to embrace teamwork for effective service delivery.

They both gave the task on Tuesday at a two-day training workshop for top civil servants in the state with the theme, ‘Team Building and Synergy Workshop for Peak Performance.’
The session was organized by the State Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions.

Declaring the training session open, Ambode urged the civil servants to acquire the benefits of the training for the attainment of government’s objectives and effective service delivery.

Gov. Ambode who was represented by the Commissioner of the establishment ministry, Dr. Akintola Oke, said teamwork and synergy were keys to achieving corporate objectives.

“Teamwork is the oil that makes a team to work. It can enable smoother movement towards achieving targets, can prolong a forward momentum and can help teams to overcome obstacles,” the Governor stated.

He also added by saying that teamwork does not only bring about cost reduction, but can also help in access to markets, exchange of products and exchange of best practices.

Similarly, UNILAG Vice Chancellor, said teamwork and synergy enable civil servants to increase their productivity and become result-oriented.

Earlier in his remarks, Deji Haruna, Director of Training, Lagos State Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, commended the governor for his commitment to the continuous training of civil servants.
