Gregory University Holds 3rd Convocation Ceremony

The Gregory University in Abia state has graduated nothing less than one hundred students at its third convocation ceremony which was held at the main auditorium of the institution recently.

According to THISDAY News, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Augustine Uwakwe, who described the graduating students as ‘Global Leaders’, said the 100 graduates were trained with state-of-art teaching aids in line with the institution’s culture of ensuring high academic standards.

Four, out of the students graduated with first class degrees, fifty-eight made second class upper, thirty-three made second class lower while five made third class and pass.

At the event, Prof. Gregory Ibe, Chancellor of the institution charged the students to demonstrate the skills and competencies they acquired anywhere they find themselves. He advised them to always remain the best in whatever they do, saying that they have been groomed and equipped with necessary skills.

“I charge you to remember the letters of the line in our school song that says ‘in every quest, we still remain the best’. Therefore as you depart the land of Uturu, where knowledge drops as dew, remember that you have been equipped with the necessary skills that will enable you to be the best wherever you find yourself,” he said.

In his remarks, the VC said that the management is currently working hard to ensure the smooth take off of academic activities at the temporary teaching hospital in Umuahia.
