Groundbreaking of Transport University Would Take Place In September – Amaechi


The Honorable Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over the weekend disclosed that the groundbreaking of the Transport University, Daura, would take place in September.


The Minister revealed this while inspecting the Lagos-Ibadan rail line constrction, saying that the ministry would also establish a factory in Kajola, Ogn state, to prodce materials for the rail project.

“We have agreed with contractors handling the university and the rail line to have the groundbreaking between September and October for the two projects,” Amaechi stated.


The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 157 kilometre Lagos-Ibadan rail project was awarded in 2017 to the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) at the cost of 1.6 billion USD with a three-year completion agreement, as well as that of the Transport University.
