The House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday, May 21, 2019 to resolve the lingering crisis among top officials of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Reports revealed that the decision was taken after the committee’s meeting with the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Oluwatotin Ogundipe, and his deputy in charge of development services, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sunny Echonno and the Executive Secretary of Nationall Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, led the VC and his team to the meeting.
The ministry and the NUC had earlier met with Ogundipe on the crisis and had planned to meet the Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Dr. Wale Babalakin.
Echono, in his findings, blamed the feud on the lack of communication between the management and the council.
