Simple ways to share data on Airtel and Airtel share data code
If you want to share your Airtel data with your friends and family, follow this simple instruction, Airtel calls this service SmartSHARE. The data can be shared across Phones, Tabs and Laptops.
and the service is designed to allow you share data in two ways
To share data with your family and friend, dial *141#, then select option number 5. which says “gift or share data”, after this you’ll be taken to another option which asks you to change your PIN and select either of the 2 sharing options.
- Me 2 U – This allows you to share your already purchased Airtel Data Bundle. “giving out” or “sharing” from an already purchased data bundle from an “owner customer” to other customers. In this case, the given out bundle will reside in the other customer’s wallet. Only one customer can be Me2U’d at a time.
- Gifting: Buying a data bundle plan from the “owner customer” to another customer; data bundles in this category includes all the bundles listed on Airtel’s list of bundle plans and Android bundles.

- You can share a maximum of 200MB data to one person.
- To share your data dial *141# on your phone, then select the option of “share data” or you select the option for Gifting or Me2U.
- You can share data with a maximum of 2 recipients daily. This means that you can share a maximum of 200MB each with 2 recipients daily.
- The shared data will have the same validity as the original data. E.g If you have a bundle with validity end date of 1st March 2019, and you share some of that data; the recipient’s data will also expire on 1st March 2019.
- You can share a maximum of 200MB data to one person.
Airtel Data Gifting: More information
- Data Gifting allows you to buy a data bundle for another line.
- You can gift data by dialing *141#. Dialing this string returns a menu, then you select the option for Gifting or Me2U.
How to Generate PIN for Airtel Data Sharing
- In order to prevent an unauthorized person from doing Data Sharing/Gifting from a customer’s phone, a Pin is required before you can share or gift data.
- · When you access Data Sharing/Gifting for the first time, you will be required to change your Pin from the default Pin to any Pin you desire to use.
