The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had pledged that he will provide free WiFi at the Lagos State University (LASU) if elected as the next governor of the state.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the governorship candidate made the pledge on Thursday at a 70th birthday lecture and inauguration of a 500-seater lecture theatre donated to LASU by Adeyemi Makanjuola, the chairman of Caverton Offshore Support Group.
Sanwo-Olu said that the provision of free WiFi in LASU would further improve access to quality and advance technological development in the university.
“The recent call by Wale Babalakin on Lagos state to spend N1.2m per student annually was doable. Spending N1.2m on about 50,000 students will cost the state N60b annually,” Sanwo-Olu said.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Executive Governor of Lagos state who was also present at the event assured Sanwo-Olu would complete all the ongoing projects in the university if elected.
