The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University in Niger state has stated that the institution will make available its research on frontier basins exploration as the Federal Government has given the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) the go ahead to explore inland Hydrocarbon deposit for further action.
Prof. Nuhu Obaje, the institution’s Director of Research and Innovations, said that the research on the Bida, Sokoto basins, and the Benue Trough could be made available to NNPC for further actions.
He said that during an in-house appraisal of research activities carried out by the university in the last five years under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Nasir Maiturara, that the reason to continue the partnership with NNPC was premised on the supports the university received from the corporation for the researchers.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Abu-Kaseem Adamu applauded the quality of research initiatives by the University’s Center of Research and assured of the management’s continued support.
The DVC who represented the VC enjoined faculty members of the university to engage in edge-cutting activities that could take the IBB University to the pedestal of renowned universities in the world.
