As the registration for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) progresses, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had announced a new guideline for direct entry admissions.
The information was made available by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin during an interview with men of the press.
The new guideline states that direct entry candidates can upgrade their UTME form to direct entry without buying two forms.
According to JAMB, direct entry candidates would be required to provide their registration numbers with which they gained admission to previous degree programs.
The sale of registration forms to all candidates (UTME/DE) including those outside the country, commenced on the 10th of January and will end by February 21st 2019. Also, the 2019 Computer-Based Test Examination will begin on the 16th of March and come to an end on the 23rd of March 2019.
“Once the candidate registers for UTME and discovers he has direct entry qualification, he or she is free to just upgrade to direct entry. Once you have qualification for direct entry, just upgrade the UTME to direct entry. Candidates should not buy a separate form,” Benjamin stated.
