Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, born on the 1st of May, 1994 and popularly known as Kizz Daniel, is a Nigerian music artist and a talented song writer best known for his singles ‘Woju and Yeba’. Prior to changing his stage name in May 2018, he went by the name ‘Kiss Daniel’.
Kizz Daniel signed a recording deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013, but left the label following a publicized contract dispute and court case. He later founded the ‘Fly Boy Inc’ record label in November 2017.
Kiss (Kizz) Daniel Early Life
The talented singer was born and bred in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He hails from Abeokuta North LGA. Daniel attended ‘Abeokuta Grammar School’ and graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering).
While in the university, Kizz Daniel decided to pursue music as a career alongside his studies.
Kiss (Kizz) Daniel Music Career
In May 2015, Kizz Daniel released a third folloBiographyw up single ‘Laye’ on his birthday, alongside a video two weeks later which was shot in different locations in the eastern part of Africa and was directed by AJE Films. He released his first studio album titled ‘New Era’ on the 14th of May, 2016.
After he left his former recording label, G-Worldwide, he decided to float his own personal imprint ‘FLYBOY INC, which recently signed two new acts, ‘Demmie Vee’ and ‘Philkeys’ after which he featured on Demmie Vee’s single, ‘You go Wait’.
2018 was a fabulous year for the talented singer as he features ‘Wizkid (a Nigerian singer) on a hit song ‘For You’ and also with ‘Davido (a Nigerian singer) on another single ‘One Ticket’.
On the 30th of December, 2018, the handsome singer released his 2nd studio album and the first under FlyBoy INC which he titled ‘No Bad Songz’. The album came with twenty songs including the pre-released ‘One Ticket’ which he featured the DMW boss, Davido.
The album received positive reviews from music lovers, his fans and debuted at No 55 on the US iTunes Chart and became number 1 on the world album chart within 24 hours of its release.
Record label dispute and name changing
In November 2017, Kizz Daniel announced his split from his record label, G-Worldwide and established his own record label called FlyBoy INC. He was sued to court by the management of his former record label but was not found guilty sor any of the crimes alleged against him.
In May 2018, Kizz Daniel announced that he had changes his stage name from Kiss Daniel to ‘Kizz Daniel’, a name which immediately reflected on his social media accounts. New Spotify and Apple Music accounts were also created immediately with the new stage name, with his new songs featured.
In June 2018, Kizz Daniel’s ex record label made a move to own the rights to the name ‘Kizz Daniel’ and further urged him to desist from using the name or face legal consequences in a press release which was sent out to media outfits.
Kizz Daniel fired his former Head of Management and Public Relations, Tumi Lawrence, some days after he alleged that ‘Davido’ slapped him at his December 2018 concert in Lagos.
The talented singer, in a statement released by FlyBoy INC, revealed that a new Head of Management and Public Relations personnel has taken over the affairs of the record label.
Awards and Nominations
The FlyBoy INC boss, to his credit, can boast of several awards and nominations due to his outstanding musical performances.
Kizz Daniel has been awarded and nominated by The Headies, The Future Awards Africa, Nigeria Entertainment Award, MTV Africa Music Award, City People Music Award, amongst others within and outside the country.
