Kwara State Polytechnic Gets New Rector


The Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the appointment of Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed as a substantive Rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic (KWARAPOLY).

The development was made known by the Secretary to the state government, Prof. Mamman Saba Jubril, adding that Dr. Mohammed replaces Alhaji Masud Elelu whose tenure expired in June, 2019.


According to reports, Dr. Muhammed was until his appointment the Deputy Rector (Academics) at the Federal Polytechnic Offa (FPO) Kwara state.


The new polytechnic Rector holds two doctorate degrees in Metallurgical and Material Science at the Witwatersrand University, South Africa in 2016. He bagged his Masters of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1998 from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) eight years after he finished his first degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).


Mohammed, who was born in 1966 and hails from Ilorin, can also boast of Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. He has managerial experiences in the academics spanning twenty-seven years.
