KWASU Holds Convocation As Institution Wins N21m Grant To Solve Petroleum Pipeline Vandals

The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has won a N21 million grant to draft a device to tackle petroleum pipeline vandals across the country.


The Vice Chancellor of the university, prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, made this known while speaking with newsmen on the 7th Convocation of the institution which will hold on Saturday.


The Vice Chancellor stated that the Aeronautic Engineering department of the university won the grant.


The Vice Chancellor said a total number of 1,196 students are graduating this year from the institution out of which 25 bagged First Class degrees, 592 made Second Class Upper, 533 made Second Class Lower while 46 made Third Class.


He said a total of 151 students would be awarded Master’s Degrees while five will be awarded with Doctor of Philosophy.


Prof. Na’Allah, who would by July complete his two-term tenure, stated that the number of students had grown from 500 when he became the VC ten years ago to 15,000.
