Doris John and Daniel Shaibu of the Faculties of Education and Sciences with CPGA of 4.39 and 4.36 respectively have received cash award of N500,000 each during the 23rd convocation ceremony of the Lagos State University (LASU) which was endowed by the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode.
They both carted away with ‘Bolanle Ambode’s Prize for Best Graduating Student in Physics Education and Bolanle Ambode’s Prize for Best Graduating Student in Physics’.
Also, Ridwan Ola-Gbadamosi, from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Nneka Enumah, from the Faculty of Science graduating with the same CPGA of 4.88, making them the overall graduating students went home with N200,000 each plus other benefits.
Earlier, in his address, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, Vice Chancellor of the institution, has stated that the university had made a landmark by producing the largest number of First Class in the university.
Report revealed that a tatal of 14,315 students graduated from the university out of which 57 made First Class honours.
