The Lagos State University (LASU) has warned students and stakeholders to be mindful of illegal activities by some fraudsters on social media to defraud them through registration of its annual bursary allowance.
This was made known by the institution’s official weekly bulletin on Friday in Lagos. The bulletin stated that the warning became apparent due to information reaching the university that some fraudsters using its name to carry out illegal activities on some social media platforms.
“Attention of the LASU community has been drawn to some illegal activities being carried out by fraudsters on some social media platforms in the name of the university to defraud unsuspecting students,” the bulletin stated.
The institution has therefore, advised the entire LASU community, stakeholders and the general public not to register on any of the various illegal social media platforms in their interest as they were operated by fraudsters.
