Prof. Olubunmi Ajayi, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, has on Thursday said the EKSU College of Medicine had received a five-year full accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
In a statement by EKSU Head of Directorate of Information, Mr. Bode Olofinmuagun, the Vice Chancellor expressed his delight at the development.
“The College can now go ahead to hold the final professional Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Sugery examination very soon,” the VC stated.
“The long awaited accreditation of the MBBS program of the College of Medicine, EKSU, has finally come as the MDCN has granted it full accrditation for five years.
“This was conveyed to the university through an email from the Medical Council,” the statement reads.
The Acting VC commended the Governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi and the parents of the medical students for supporting the school.
