A total numbers of 48 newly qualified medical doctors of the Babcock University have been inducted into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). The newly said medical doctors were inducted at a ceremony held recently in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun state.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo, implore the inductees to be faithful, diligent, empathetic and patient as they embark on their medical journey. He advised them to treat every patient with kindness, stressing that the lives and deaths of their patients depend on what they carry out or on what they fail to carry out.
“I pray that God will give the wisdom and skill to find the solutions and succor needed as you grapple with health problems and diseases that affect humanity, as well as new diseases with strange names that you will come face to face with,” he stated.
The Provost of the College of Benjamin Carson School of Medicine (Babcock University Teaching Hospital), Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro, who was also present at the event, thanked the Institution’s administration for the beautiful support enjoyed by the school and teaching hospital so far.
Following the full accreditation of Medicine and Surgery program by the National University Commission (NUC), the University has been listed in the world directory of Medical Schools which will enable its graduates to apply for USMLE, PLAB and any other International examinations.
The Guest speaker of the event in person of Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi enjoined her colleagues to be compassionate to humanity as they begin their sojourn into the medical practice. She asked to remember to take good care of them-selves even as they strive to take care of their patients.
The Registrar of MDCN, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi, advised the inductees to uphold the ethics of the medical profession, warning that there are penalties for defaulters.
