The General Overseer and Founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, has been conferred with a honourary doctorate degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Olukoya was conferred with the degree at the 50th convocation ceremony of the university, which was held on Thursday at the institution’s campus, Akoka, Lagos.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, during the conferring of the degree, said that Olukoya is an outstanding alumnus of UNILAG who graduated with a first class honours in Micro Biology and PhD in Molecular Geneticist.
The VC described Olukoya’s contribution to youths and humanity as massive, adding that he has over the years, exhibited great philanthropy by supporting and sponsoring less privileged students in Nigeria beyond the walls of his church.
In his acceptance speech, the general overseer called for financial motivation for undergraduates, stressing that since he promised a car for first class student in his church, numbers of first class shot up.
He also suggested that the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) add to the university curriculum, a mandatory course on ‘Life after the University’.
