Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, has described the crisis affecting the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso as unfortunate but surmountable.
He made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Michael Ologunde, during the week in Ogbomoso.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), LAUTECH which is co-owned by Oyo and Osun States had been battling with the crisis over the ownership.
The Minister made it known that the problems bedeviling the institution were surmountable, assuring them that the institution would rise again.
Dare also described the recent meeting of Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state as apt, adding that the institution had consolidated on its leadership position as a University of Technology.
He called on stakeholders to collectively work towards returning the university to the period of uninterrupted academic activities, promising to play an active role in finding a lasting solution to the incessant closure of the institution, which he described as a model.
