The ex acting Director-General of the department of state services (DSS), Matthew Seiyefa has been appointed as the new Pro-chancellor and chairman of the governing board of the Niger Delta University.
According to Sahara Reporters, it is recalled that Seiyefa was appointed acting DG of the DSS by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in his capacity as acting president in August 2018. His appointment came after the sack of Lawal Daura as DG for breach of national security.
According to a statement by the Bayelsa Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, Seiyefa takes over from Prof. Steve Azaiki, who has since resigned his position to run for the Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
