The Lagos State University (LASU) Yesterday said there was no iota of truth in the rumour being speculated that the institution planned to increase its tuition fees anytime soon.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the institution’s spokesman, Ademola Adekoya, made this known in Lagos that the rumour was the handwork of some mischief makers.
“The story is not correct. There is no iota of truth on the increase of school fees,” the spokesman stated.
Adekoya said that the institution’s Governing Council had also not made any recommendation for the increase of school fees.
According to him, the Governing Council only recently approved an increase on the amount paid on certificates, transcript and other sundry charges as recommended by the Finance and General Purposes Committee of the university.
As at 6.30 am on Monday, LASU posted on its official twitter handle, @LASUOfficial, “Kindly disregard any information suggesting an increase in the school fees of the institution. School fees remain unchanged, please.”
