NOUN Emerges Overall Winner of FEDUGAM

National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has emerged the overall winner of the 2nd edition of the annual Federal Education Sector Games (FEDUGAM) which ended in Lokoja, Kogi State.


According to reports, NOUN won a total of eleven gold medals, seventeen silver medals and five bronze medals to emerge the champion of the competition.

The Federal Ministry of Education emerged second with thirty-five medals comprising of eleven gold medals, eleven silver medals and fourteen bronze medals while the National Examination Council (NECO) emerged the third position.


At the end of the competiton, UBEC, TETFund, NBTE, LRCN, NABTEB and TRCN emerged the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th positions respectively.


The Chairman of the Main Organising Committee of the tournament, Auwalu Koko, while speaking at the closing ceremony of the five-day event, expressed delight over the successful outcome of the games.


Koko urged the contingents to imbibe the spirit of team work as they return to their various offices.


The Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Prince Salisu Ogu, who was also present at the closing ceremony, assured the organisers of the readiness to host the games in subsequent editions.
