NUC Accredits Eighteen Degree Courses Of Sokoto State University

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited eighteen degree programs of the Sokoto State University, while five other courses have partial accreditation status.

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sani Muhammad Dangogo disclosed during the 6th matriculation of its fresh students, adding that 200 members of staff of the institution have been sponsored to pursue postgraduate programs in and outside the country.

While administering matriculation oaths to over two thousand fresh students for the 2018/2019 academic session, the VC said that the students cut across the Faculty of Art/Social Science, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Education.

Dangogo further stated that 13,000 candidates applied for admission in the state owned university for the 2018/2019 academic session but 2,074 were lucky to have been admitted by the institution. He urged them to study very hard and to shun social vices.

“I would like to congratulate you for the epoch making event; you are lucky to be considered to study in this prestigious university,” the VC stated.

The Vice Chancellor added that the institution had excelled in the area of research and innovations.
“This university has signed a MOU with various institutions in the areas of staff and students’ exchange. The universities include Zinder University in Niger Republic, Islamic University of Uganda, University of Lahare Pakistan and Kampala International University Uganda,” he stated.
