The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU) in Delta state, full accreditation for six academic programmes.
The academic programmess include; Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Banking & Finance, and Biochemistry.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the accreditation exercise began on the 2nd of November, 2018, with the first arrival of the first NUC accreditation team led by Prof. Asahaolu.
For four weeks, over fifteen professors were at the university to inspect facilities, curriculum and publications.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ibiyinka Fuwape, the NUC different teams were impressed with the university environment, library, laboratories and state-of-art facilities.
NUC commended the university’s management for a job well done, justifying the huge amount of money that has been invested in infrastructure, thereby ensuring excellence in every department.
The VC of the institution commended the Visitor to the university, Dr. Cecilia Ibru, the board of trustees, the Pro Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Peter Hugbo and other members of the council and urged everybody not to rest on their oars bearing in mind that “we are all on a quest for excellence in a changing word.”
