The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) the nod to commence Faculty of Dental Sciences.
Prof. Sulaiman Lawal Bilbis, Vice Chancellor of the institution, made this known when he led members of the school management who paid a courtesy visit to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at the Government House, Sokoto.
The VC explained that following the approval obtained, the institution would commence Bachelor of Dental Surgery as from the next academic session.
He further revealed that the university is awaiting approval to run Mass Communication, Nutrition Physiotherapy and Opthalmology courses and also thanked the state government for its assistance to the institution.
In his remarks, the state governor thanked the management team for the visit and assured them of continuous collaboration with the state government, commeding the peaceful disposition of the institution and hope the tempo would be sustained.
The Governor congratulated the Vice Chancellor and his Deputy Vice Chancellors on their emergence and wished them a successful tenure in office.
