
The National University Commission (NUC) has accredited eight degree programs at the Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic in Katsina state.
The accreditation followed the resource assessment visit by a team from the Commission led by Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Danjumma.
The approved courses include B Tech, Automobile Technology; B Tech, Building Technology/Wood Work Technology; B Tech, Metal Work Technology; B Tech, Electrical/Electronic Technology; B Tech Biology Education; B Tech Chemistry Education; and B Tech Mathematics Education.
Speaking at the accreditation ceremony, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Danjumma said the team was at the polytechnic last year for an assessment visit to evaluate the courses offered at the institution.
In his remarks, the Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Mudi Kurfi said the accreditation was no doubt a mark of achievement, noting that the institution’s economic value will be increased and also stressed that the offering of some degree courses will boost the status of the Polytechnic.
