NUC Approves PhD Courses for Lead City University

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given Lead City University the go ahead to run PhD degree courses in the university.

This was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Aderemi Kabir Adeyemo during the 11th convocation ceremony of the university in Ibadan.

According to Nigerian Tribune, Prof. Adeyemi said that the university got new five courses accredited at the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and M.Sc levels which are; Master of Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Banking and Finance, and PGD in Hospital Services Administration; and at the PhD level, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration and Business Administration.

The VC noted that the university had developed a framework for continuous quality management and control, as more staff members were engaged to meet the academic requirements.

He said, this year, a total of 838 students were awarded various categories of degrees and diplomas, with a total of 41 graduating with First class honors; 295 with upper credit; 417 with second class lower and 15 in the third class category.

Adeyemi charged the students to be good ambassadors of the university anywhere they found themselves and stick to good values, which include self-reliance, excellence, self-confidence, honesty and self-independence.
