NUGA: UAM defeats KASU 2-0 in football opener

Hosts, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAM) football team on Monday defeated Kaduna State University (KASU) to record their first win of the 25th Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) Games.

The teams playing yesterday after resuming for the Games suspended on Sunday, kept spectators thrilled as they displayed soccer skills which ended 2-0 in favour of the hosts.

The two goals were scored by Asen Wade, Jersey in the 20th minutes into the start of the first half, while the second goal was scored by Ebuka Odenigbo, 10 seconds into the second half of the encounter.

The KASU side, fielding tall and skillful payers, tried to record a goal in the first match, watched by a large turnout of spectators but it proved abortive.
