The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reportedly banned Benue State University and University of Agriculture, Makurdi, from sending their students for the compulsory one year national service.
According to Daily Post, the Corps placed a two-year ban on both institutions following an alleged discovery of negligence and evidence of age manipulation.
Nonetheless, Prof. Moses Kembe, Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, pleaded for the remove of the ban during a meeting a meeting with the Scheme though ended up in a deadlock as his appeal was not granted.
He maintained that the university authority was not involved in age manipulation adding that the age limits were manipulated by the students themselves.
Findings by Daily Post on Monday show that graduates of the affected universities were denied access to the NYSC registration portal.
