A 300L student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Miss Adedamola Tolubi has emerged the winner of the 2018/2019 edition of Queen Moremi Ajasoro Cultural Pegeant sponsored by House of Oduduwa Foundation.
According to the SUN News, the beauty pageant was hosted by the wife of the executive governor of Ogun state, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun in Abeokuta.
Tolubi emerged the winner after being challenged by five other finalists. She went away with the coveted crown after being certified by the four-man panel of judges.
The lucky winner also went away with a brand new Toyota camry saloon car, a cash prize of a million naira among other prizes.
The first and second runners up collected N750,000 and N500,000 respectively, while the two others got N200,000 each.
The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Alake of Egbaland, Oba Gbadebo and Governor Ibikunle Amosun were present at the event to support the contestants and the host.
In his remarks, Gov. Amosun thanked the Ooni for granting the hosting right of the competition to Ogun state and naming his wife as the living model of the Queen Moremi Ajasoro legacy.
The Ooni presented a plaque and an artwork to the governor for his interest in the art and culture of the Yoruba land.
