According to the Guardian Newspaper, the Chairman and members of the newly inaugurated Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University have been charged to correct the wrongs in the institution with regard tolearning.
His Royal Majesty, Oba of Benin, Ewuare 2 gave the charge when he received the board in his Palace. Oba of Benin commended Governor Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo state for reconstituting the council, which comprises men and women of proven integrity and capabilities.
Ewuare the second, expressed so much concern over the increasing rate of cultism and exam malpractices in the university, he advised the chairman and members of the Governing Council to also tackle issues of sexual harassment of female students by lecturers.
In conclusion, His Royal Majesty assured the Governing Council of the Palace’s support at all times.
Guardian News also reported that Chief Lawson Omokhodion, Chairman of the Governing Council and Pro-chancellor of the institution had earlier stated that were in the palace to receive royal blessings to enable them succeed in the task before them.
