Obayan, Former Covenant University VC Dies At 59

Former Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, and Professor of Guidance and Councelling, Aize Obayan has been reported dead.

Aize Obayan, whose cause of death is yet to be known was the Director of Covenant University’s Africa Leadership Development Centre (ALDC) which was her second duty post after retiring as the VC of Covenant University in 2012.

Obayan died less than a year after winning her prolonged case at the Supreme Court against her former employer, University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) over what she described as her unjust dismissal in September 1999.

Born on the 4th of March, 1960, to the family of Sir and Lady Frank Imouokhome in Edo state, she attended St. Andrews, Scotland, for “A” Levels and later gained admission to the University of Benin (UNIBEN) for a B.Ed (English) degree from 1979 to 1982.
